A minute book (1908-1958), correspondence (1930-1957), membership lists (1945-1957), financial records (1906-1984), newspaper clippings, and miscellaneous materials (1908-1981) documenting the founding and activities of a club (1906-1958) formed to encourage professional and social interaction among library workers in the Twin Cities area. The club's last meeting was held on March 8, 1958, and although the club did not formally disband, it ceased most of its activities at that time.

Gratia A. Countryman was born in Hastings, Minnesota, November 29, 1866, the daughter of Levi N. and Alta Chamberlain Countryman. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1882 and from the University of Minnesota in 1889. Shortly after graduating from the University she joined the staff of the Minneapolis Public Library.
